What does Your Accounting Sanctuary actually do?
We look after the numbers so you don't have to. That covers business accounting and financial statements, individual and business tax returns, bookkeeping, BAS, business advisory and family trust work. More than that, we help you understand what the numbers are telling you, so you can make confident decisions and get on with growing your business.
Who do you work with?
Everyone from sole traders and start-ups through to established businesses, as well as individuals and families with their personal tax and trust needs. Whether your situation is simple or a bit tangled, we're happy to talk it through.
How do you charge?
For most of our services we're not watching the clock or billing by the hour — we're focused on doing the job properly. We'll talk you through what's involved and what it costs up front, so there are no surprises when the invoice lands.
Do I need to come to your office?
Only if you'd like to. Some clients love a regular face-to-face catch-up at our Sydney office; others are happy doing everything online; plenty mix it up depending on the time of year. We work whichever way suits you, with proper security in place either way.
I already have an accountant — is it hard to switch?
Not at all. Changing accountants is more straightforward than most people expect, and we handle the handover with your previous accountant for you. You just let them know you're moving and we take care of the rest.
What accounting software do you use?
We're advocates for cloud-based bookkeeping and accounting and work with the major platforms like, MYOB, Quickbooks and Xero. If you're not set up yet, we'll help you choose the right software for your business and show you (or your team) how to use it, so you're not wrestling with it on your own.
I find accounting stressful and confusing. Will I understand what's going on?
That's exactly the problem we set out to solve. We cut the jargon and keep things simple, so you can see clearly how you're tracking and feel confident in the advice you're getting. The whole idea of a "sanctuary" is giving you back your time and peace of mind.
How often will we actually talk?
As often as you need to. We genuinely like talking with our clients and we make time for it — it's the best way for us to understand where you've come from, where you're heading and what's on your mind right now. Regular conversations mean nothing gets missed.
